Red Salon has been participating in the annual December Art Walk for the past twelve years. This was the first December I’ve owned the salon, I wanted to keep this annual tradition. Our team wanted to do a abstract interpretation. I wanted to mix thing up a bit and include more of the artists in our community.
Terry MacDonald, Is a well known artist in our community. She had a collection of abstract canvas paintings that we could use in our show. Terry created more pieces with additional colors. Each adult model represtened a single canvas. Lemon and Phoenix shared one canvas. Our vision was to create a live interpretation of the canvas Terry provided.
Christy Rainchild did the wardrobe styling for all of the models
Kelsey Ekstrom did the adult models makeup,
Astrid Wight did the adult models hair.
I did the kids hair and makeup.
Suzanne Rothmeyer was our photographer.
We were a dream team! Suzanne worked her magic and created images of the models while using parts of their canvases as their own individual backdrops! It was a wonderful artistic interpretation of art and design, by the whole team! It was a fun and successful show.
Our community supports many artists and I’ve been wanting to showcase that talent. Now our guests are going to have more than white walls and people magazine to stare at while receiving services!Terry MacDonald has kicked off the first month of our gallery opening. Her abstract work with be on display January 2018 and avalible for purchase at Red Salon Aveda. Hope you enjoy this gallery!
